Nominations Invited for New Award

SPRA Council invites members to nominate worthy individuals for this prestigious new award.

Charlie Geddes Award -  To an individual for outstanding contribution to the Scottish plastics and/or rubber industry where such services have benefited either education or industry. Open to both members and non-members of the Scottish Plastics & Rubber Association, this award recognises the contribution made by William Charles Geddes (1938 - 2016) in spreading the knowledge of polymer science, engineering and technology of plastics and rubber. Presented on an occasion selected by the SPRA. The award consists of a gold medal.

Nominees may be members or non-members of the Scottish Plastics and Rubber Association (SPRA) and nationals of any country.

Self nominations are not acceptable. Awards are not made posthumously. Where the proposer and nominee are from the same organisation, the nomination must also be supported by an independent endorser.

Nominations require the following supporting information:

  • A citation of up to 400 words stating reason for nomination and how the nominee fulfils the criteria of the award.
  • A biography of the nominee giving comprehensive information about the candidate‚Äôs career.

Nominations open on 1st  September and close on 31st September 2016.

Nominations should be submitted to the Honorary Secretary.
