IOM3 Scottish Local Society Award Winners

At the Institute of Materials Minerals and Mining (IOM3) Premier Awards dinner held at 1 Carlton House Terrace on 12 July the Mining Institute of Scotland (MIS) featured strongly. Dr Graham Smith received an Outstanding Contribution Award for his service to the Institute which includes 8 years representing Scotland on the IOM3 Council in addition to organising conferences etc. Congratulations Graham, and also to MIS on keeping up the Scottish tradition of winning the Local Society of the Year Award (last year SPRA won). David Seath, MIS Honorary Secretary, collected the trophy and cheque on behalf of MIS who are to organise this year’s RW Thomson Lecture.
